Bought four new comics yesterday: BPRD, Runaways, Buffy and Fables. I’ve read the latter three before, but I couldn’t find the issues I’d read last (or the ones right after them, rather) so I’m a bit lost on all the plotlines, but it’s something. Oh holy god I lurve them comics.
How to read more comic books
How I did it: With the help of the library. 'Cause I'm poor. I've been reading Sandman by the volume, which would normally be really expensive. But thankfully I don't have to drop a ton of money to appreciate an awesome comic.
Lessons & tips: Go to a store or library and pick up something that looks cool. If the art appeals to you, give it a shot. Or try some really well known comic you are somewhat familiar with already.

Comic books are awesome. I mostly like the art inside, but the stories are great also. I have tons of them that I want to read, and some that I’ve purchased and still haven’t read. I just need to slow down and take a few minutes a day to just read even a couple of pages.
Well, there’s still plenty more to be read, but I’m on the right track. I’ve found a local shop I love to be geeky in (I’m female; this can seem daunting at some places ;p) and I pass books on to my boyfriend. Fun! <3
Something I’ve noticed is that I start reading comics when I feel kind of cruddy. It’s pretty weird. :P
(Attached photo is an old one of my comic shelf. I’ve since completed my Buddha set and other things. Yay!)
I will make a list of all the books I’d like to read… and read them. And the list will be added to whenever I hear about something that I might like.
I’m going to go by recommendations from people I respect, and I’d like to buy a massive bundle of random comics somewhere and flick through a few and see if anything catches my imagination.
