I have done a lot of drama work, been in lots of plays and also do stand up comedy. I would LOVE to be an extra on TV. And I would love even more to play a role in a movie / TV programme. I have always wanted to be a famous actress :)

How I did it: While on a study abroad in Indonesia me and some others were approached to work because a film version of colonial-era story "Victory" was being filmed on our island (Java) and we were all like YES and I got to meet Willem Defoe (who is extremely cool) and almost went boating with Sam Niell and had my pic taken with Rufus Sewell - I couldn't believe any of it - and sadly the film was never released so there's NO EVIDENCE. Right place… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I did a work training as an assistant at the costume department and was asked to play an extra at a scene depicting New Year celebration at the turn of a century (1899-1900). We are mostly dark figures standing in the background watching fireworks. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I didn't go looking for the opportunity. The opportunity came to me. When I was a teenager, some producers asked our swim team to pose for a picture and then asked for some extras. I know that since then, I've heard of various announcements when extras are needed, but once was enough for me. I like being a little more active. Mostly I stood around in my swim suit all day while they filmed. I don't remem… Read how I did it…

How I did it: One of my friends sent me a posting calling for extras for the Dark Knight movie when it was filming in Chicago. She and I both volunteered through a nonprofit which meant our pay would go to the nonprofit. We were cast for an outdoor crowd scene. We got an email letting us know what to wear (dark clothes befitting a cool autumn day), and where and what time to show up (unbelievably early). We spent 12 hours on the set, most of it on… Read how I did it…
How I did it: My brother found out about it on a web site and took me along. I had to fillout some forms (we actually got paid a few bucks). Signed in and then off to get a costume. They tell you what you will be and I actually got lucky and got something better than just sitting in the background. There are many casting companies that hire extras. It just depends on when they come to your city. We shot at several high schools in my area. Read how I did it…

I’ve heard that it is tough work to be an extra & not all that fun.
I think it would be worth it though.
Especially because you get a real look at how things work.
Plus, it would just be cool to say, ‘Hey, I was in that movie…well, sort of.’
I can’t wait until the opportunity arises for me to actually do this.
I was in China on vacation, and some people approached me and told me they wanted me to be in a movie they were filming. I wanted to do it, and I totally would have done it. Problem is, they needed at least 2 of us to do it, and nobody else was interested. The group only had 4 people, so there werent many people to ask. So I couldnt convince anyone. Too bad :(

Started the process in becoming an extra. Hopefully it’s not a scam.

Pancemaster is OK with making mistakes now and again!!
I get the feeling that being an extra in a movie would be pretty awesome. I want to be able to say, “yeah, I was an extra in that movie _. Maybe you’ve heard of it?” Not so much to maybe be in the presence of someone famous, but to be apart of a project like a movie. :D
I’ve heard that more movies are being filmed in Iowa lately. I think it has something to do with taxes. So I think I’ll go for it. I can’t picture being a star or being a professional actress. I have a tendency to look at the background people when watching movies and I’d like to do that. The “don’t blink or you’ll miss me” person walking across the street or sitting in a restaurant. My problem is that I can’t act. I know it’s not really acting if I walk by the main character on a street or whatever simple activity. But if I know a camera’s on me, I feel so self concious and feel like I look goofy. I’d like to overcome that and feel beautiful!
I’ve been in a commercial before so that’s something. Happened to be at the right place at the right time. A local casino commercial. And it was just the back of me that got on film. But hey, I was on TV!!!! LOL.

I’m going to say this goal will be complete if I do any of the following:
-be in a movie or TV show
-have a speaking/singing part in a play of musical
