take my dog to obedience classes

Got the certificate in the mail today and we passed! Yay Lockie!! Im so proud =)

His final lesson + “test” went so well! =D Im such a proud mum.
We weren’t told straight away whether we’ve past or not – so now we have to wait 3 weeks to get the letter in the mail. I hope he passes!!

His last class wasn’t as good compared to his past record. He still did ok with all the sit/stay/wait/etc commands, however he seemed so distracted and restless. He was also snapping at the other dogs which he never does! He’s usually such a friendly pup. Not sure what was wrong exactly.. maybe he was just having a bad day.

Next lesson is the last one and the ‘exam’. Im fairly confident we will do well, however im nervous about calling him and getting him to come to me from across the class. As he’s such a friendly boy he usually just bounces over to the nearest dog – much more interesting than coming to me! =P

He had his second class last week in which we learnt the command ‘stay’. I had already spent a little bit of time teaching him this at home so he did pretty well in class. In fact, we had a bit of a competition between us to see who could walk away the furthest without their dog moving – and Lockie won! Im proud of him. He’s doing so well. =)

Lockie is such a smart puppy! He got picked to come out front of the class and demonstrate ‘sit’.. and he sat first time! I was so proud. Since then we’ve been practicing ‘drop’ and i think he’s got that also!

The lady from the rescue pet organization from where we adopted our puppy should be booking us in to the next set of classes soon. About time!
