Overcome my fear of freeway driving

hello!

i have the same problem. i lived in a place where there wasn’t any freeways nearby for 4 years.

but even before, i was pretty afraid of them.

but the thing that makes me feel better is i read some time ago that freeways are safer than regular roads. it makes sense.

anyway, perhaps we could help each other out (i’m assuming this is what the site is for?)

i understand your anxiety b/c it’s mine too- ordinarily, with everything, they say practice practice, but it’s just scarier with freeway driving i guess.

i don’t think i will ever overcome this fear. i’ve been freeway driving more and more lately, but i get nervous everytime i do it. whatever, it’s do-able, but i still hate it.

Well, I did it. Still afraide, but I drove to my friend’s house an hour away and yes, freeway driving was involved. I’m so proud, it felt good to do something I was afraide of. I’d like to do it again…maybe LOL. Baby steps.

Yeah, weird fear I know. Driving freaks me out a bit, especailly when it’s in an area that I am not familair with. I think I’ve driven on the freeway twice since I got my driver’s lisence what, like, almost 6 years ago!! I’m tired of relying on others to take me places. There are so many great places I could go, but can’t. Eventually I’ll have to get over it, but I can’t help but avoid it as much as possible.
