A year ago I got the most wonderful birthday gift anyone could ever ask for (from the most wonderful hubby a girl could ask for)! It was a “sponsor an orphan for one year” coupon. It might be hard to understand the need for it, but my situation (unemployed) made me uneasy about donating. (How do housewives do it anyways?) Anyhow, this was my husband’s way of saying “see, there’s absolutely nothing stopping you!”
Over a year has passed, I’ve accumulated the money, and still haven’t made the move. What’s the problem? I haven’t been able to decide which organization is most trustworthy .. and when I thought I found one, I discovered their site was down or they never replied to my e-mails. This scenario repeated itself over and over again throughout the last year.
Well… enough is enough!! A child’s life could be saved and I’m being slowed-down by suspicion, bureaucracy and technology?! This doesn’t sound like the 21st century. I’m going to sponsor an orphan as soon as I clear a few bank issues, find an org, fill out forms, send the info, and receive a reply .. Yikes! Pray for me!
