makes me smile! I was very into the theater when I was younger.
Being a Thespian and writer was the highlight of my teenage years.
I think it is something I will enjoy doing here in the wilderness.
I do need hobbies that are creative outlets.

As much as I would love to get back into acting, I simply can’t commit the time necessary to join a community theatre. If I commit my time there, I’d be taking away time from my family.
If and when I have time to spare in the future, perhaps I’ll just start out by joining an acting class or something less demanding of my time.

Despite some real concerns in the week before the performance, I feel great about the way things turned out. I made some new friends and learned a lot about myself. It also does wonders for one’s confidence.

FTJoshua should have finished math when he had the chance 10 years ago.
Joining a community theatre is great as long as you remember that it’s just that – community theatre. You can have an AWESOME time, meet great people, and maybe even change a life or two along the way.
But it is just a hobby until you decide otherwise. Treat it as such, and your mental health will thank you.

I have enjoyed preparing for “Voices from the Titanic”, but can’t hide my anxiety about whether or not our little troop can really pull this off. One of the actors just backed out, so we have some adjusting to do tonight at rehearsal. There’s a long way to go.

This is directly related to my taking an acting class goal that I’ve finally signed up for. They told me that my acting instructor will give me direction on where best to begin with the community theatre. I can’t believe that I’ve waited 20 years to do this, but it’s better late than never. I’ve begun to realize that making excuses and saying it’s too late is not getting me anywhere. So, acting, here I come!

I would really love to do a musical, like Camelot, Fiddler on the Roof, or Grease. I would also like to work on stage design. I have been to so many plays and musicals, that I would love to be part of one…even if it is just a small part.
