Currently I work for a large child care organisation in Australia, fast becoming the largest. One of the things I’ve wanted to do for years, and what working in this environment has reminded me of, is that I want to work for myself. I want to do it my way, be my own boss.

I have picked up skills in hospitality, customer relations and communications in past employment. I have been recently studying small business management through books and looking at writing business plans. I am going to enrol in a small business management course soon so I can have further knowledge.

I have my ideas for what sort of place I want to own. I plan on opening one cafe and when its successful, opening a second over the other side of town within 3 years.

I will start by working in my cafe, but the plan is to have staff run it and I only come in in the afternoons to prepare the cooking for the next day. 6 years ago
