own a piano

My parents bought me a piano when i was 10 years old, and loved playing it! My dad bought me a pianobook about the beatles, to make the music a little more bareable for him :D
I would love to play again, havent since i was 15..
But first, a bigger house, with more then one room.. therefor i need a job first, therefor i need to finish my bachelor first!
But i’ve got time!

I have this image of a grand piano in a sun room, with horses looking in the windows. :] I can’t play very well as I just don’t have time for lessons, but I do have natural talent and if I see a piece I love, I can learn it fast. I think I love listening to other people more than playing, though. At least that’s true for guitar. I do love playing for I can’t stand making mistakes.

My grandma has a very old piano that I used to play when I very little. It belonged to my great-grandma, then my grandma… When my parents moved to a different state, they took the piano with them. Now we live about an hour from my grandma and she owns the piano now.
I would really like to have this piano when she passes on or when I get my own house, whichever comes first.
Pianos, like fine wine, age gracefully. :)

I bought a Yamaha a few years ago. It was expensive but I love it. I have it in my computer room and I play it a lot.

I’ve got one lined up, waiting for me, I’ve just gotta wait for it…

This is something I don’t plan to do for some time, but it is definitely on my life list.

For Christmas I got a portable grand piano. It’s really a keyboard but it’s definitely a good consolation prize. I even have a sustain pedal.

sure it costs $200 to move it 2.7 miles, BUT it’ll bring years of fun and comfort. now, on to figuring out how to play the darn thing. i’m getting tired of playing “Jaws”.

and i’m soooo sexcited.

i’m all over craigslist and so far it seems i can get a fairly decent piano for about $400-500-ish, + moving/tuning or whatever. obvi. going for a super used one, and not top of the line, but just a nice upright piano where i can start learnin’.

maybe i’ll then practice and practice until i can play all sorts of sexy stuff and become famous off it?!

or maybe i’ll just get bored after a week.
