I haven’t had the time to get out and hike much lately. I’ve missed quiet little walks alone. So … I decided to take a walk for lunch today. I followed a road that winds down the hill from my office, through some woods, and back up a semi-steep hill back to the office. It’s a couple miles, maybe, but it was good to get out and stroll.

I searched on the internet today, and located the Forest Service website and a map of the Sandia Mountain hiking trails complete with driving directions to each trailhead. This is cool, because I can plan out a little bit better what kind of hike I want, and then be a little better prepared for it.
Today, I went on a hike in the Sandia mountains at about 8500 feet. It was nice to just pick a random trailhead and start walking. I’m thinking that I need to bring a camera with me next time so that I can capture some of the amazing things I saw while I was out.
