I’ve had two opportunities to go and both times, they’ve fell through. I was going to go with my brother and he bailed on me to go with his Hopkins friends. We were suppose to explore the city together. Then for my 21st birthday, my best friend decided to give me a NYC trip. He was born there and I was ecstatic to go with him. Our schedules never worked properly and then procrastination kicked in and I’m still waiting. :(

I’m headed off to NYC for Columbia University’s Model UN Conference. I can’t wait to get there; this will be the second time EVER that I’ve been on a plane, also the second time I’ve been to the United States, but the first time in NYC! I’ve never been to a city that big – the biggest one I’ve been to is Toronto. I can’t wait!

To see my brother in a play at the P.S. 122 near Broadway. The play he’s in won the most prestigious award of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this Summer 2008 so him and the rest of the cast and crew will be in New York in January for 3 weeks (all expenses paid!) and I’ll be going to see him perform, go sightseeing and shopping with my family. I’m so freaking EXCITED I can’t contain myself! Have to get through my first set of finals at University first though :S

You see I have friends and family who live in New York City, and I love fashion so much. But I need the money and I haven’t been able to find a job in over seven months. I have such a passion to go but there’s always something stopping me in the mist. I feel stuck and I wanted to go to college up there, and I’m old enough, but like I said I need the money. I’ve gotten an okay from my family but I just need the moola. It’s the one passion I have now and visit my family up there.
