How I did it: I was on a trip to DC and I'd wanted to see the wall for most of my natural life. And every American in this country needs to stand there and look at their reflection in that dark wall. Lessons & tips: Leave a flower or a stuffed animal. Leave something for the soldiers that gave their lives for us. |

How I did it: I had a very quick trip to Washington DC for a wedding and didn't think I'd have time to do sight seeing. Though there, indeed, was only a few hours for sight seeing, I was really glad that I stopped at the Vietnam Memorial and remembered the soldiers who lost their lives for the country. It made me remember that whether we agree with a war or not, how important each human life is and what others have sacrificed. Read how I did it…

I’ve been once, and I lived in the area forever. It takes a long time to be ready for it. My father was in Vietnam for a year, and it still affects everything he does. So… whether you know someone or not, it’s still heavy, really heavy, and you have to be ready to be pissed, angry, sad, silly, up, down, whatever you need to be, you need to be ready for it.
