My friend practically idolizes Nicole Richie, so for her birthday i’m drawing her a picture of Nicole. Hurray. It’s going pretty good. I’m really happy about it.

i just got back from EFY, a church run weeklong camp that includes around 650 LDS kids ranging from 14 to 18.
well, they hold different contests, and there was a poetry and drawing contest, so i was like, eh, what the heck. might as well give it a try. so i entered the drawing contest, thinking very little of it altogether. I entered in four drawings.
Banquet night was the whole awards thing. Me and my friend went to the bathroom, and when i got back i heard my name being called and everyone yelling for me to stand up. i was like “huh!?”
Apparently i had won first place. exciting, huh? Out of hundreds of people, it was ME that won.
Also, my ‘company’ won the banner contest. our company name was “Stars fall from Heaven”, and we had to make a banner that described us. I got to be in charge of it, and the design was these hands dropping stars, and then the stars turned to fire and burned the earth. Armaggedon was on my mind, can you tell? hahahha.
Overall, EFY was great. It really made me feel good that our banner won first, and i won firs too. It may not be a big deal, but it’s a step.
when i graduate from highschool (right now i am a freshman), i hope to get into Rhode Island School of Design by means of a scholorship. Since i live in Idaho, it is hard to travel all the way across the country, and since the tuition is very expensive (almost 25,000), i have to come up with a scholorship to even have a chance of getting over there. And of course, my parents aren’t too thrilled of me doing something as unproductive as “art”. They want me to be a Lawyer, or a Doctor.
