spend less time playing video games

This is temporary: I can only play Guitar Hero between 3:00 – 4:00 PM until January 1st.

Wow for once being busy has been a blessing for getting things done as I was forced to choose between talking with others online and video games and decided against the anti-social path.

I’m down to a PC, an Xbox 360 and a DS lite. The DS won’t be hard to give up. The PC has to stay, I work on websites and such as a side business Easy enough to keep games off it as I’m strapped for hard drive space. The 360, though, that’s going to be the worst. I’m a HUGE racing game fan. Test drive Unlimited was just released and is sucking away my free time. Forza 2 is due out soon and will be far far worse a time-waster than TDU.

I learned an important lesson here.

I think I’ve done exceptionally well with this. Think I’m gonna mark this as done.

So I’ve successfully avoided even turning the Xbox 360 or PS2 on for a few days and I’m bitterly happy. I was able to make important updates to my site, and I can’t say they would have been done otherwise.

I wonder what I might have accomplished in all of the time I’ve spent living vicariously through a spunky adolescent male avatar?

I have a list of things to do. I cycle through the list….

Chicken Little (xbox) was next on the list, but I moved it to the bottom, without playing any, so I could keep this goal going.

I’d also like to have less digital experiences and more physical ones. Maybe go outside or something on the weekends. That would be nice.

this weekend, and yesterday, I did what I hate to do, which was let video games eat up all my free time. I will be strong tonight.

and didn’t play any video games, instead, I did a lot of planning for the vacation coming up next month.
