I really really really want to go to Stanford, and major in science or engineering or pre-med or something along those lines. I’ll be a junior in the fall, but my family’s moving. I spent frosh and soph years at a New England school, next fall I’m spending the semester at an outdoor school in Colorado, and then spending 2nd semester and senior year at a new school in Minnesota. I have a 3.7 GPA, and got a 204 on the PSAT, and would have been stage manager for a school theatrical production next year; but I don’t know how to get leadership positions at my new school if I’m only there for 3 semesters. Plus, I won’t know the teachers as well (bad for recommendations) but I’m going to try really hard.I’m taking extra summer classes and a summer camp volunteer job for girls interesting in math, science, and technology, and plan on continuing rowing on a varsity team, but I feel like I need to do something else, something bigger. But I will put in 100% and see what happens.
Classes Last Year: AP European History, Honors Algebra II, AP Chemistry, English II, Spanish III-IV Accelerated, Technical Theater
Classes Next Year: American Lit, AP English Lang, AP Spanish Lang, Honors Precalc, AP US History, Natural Science (elective), Biotechnology (elective), Intermediate Stage Technology
Summer: Volunteering at camp, summer pre-college program, maybe at Carleton or Vanderbilt or somewhere…
Classes Senior Year: AP Physics, AP Biology, AP English Lit, AP Calculus, Science Research(hopefully) and theater elective

This semester has flown by. It’s been a challenging semester. I promised myself that I would get a 4.0 semester average but it’s a bit harder than I expected. I’ve done some of the necessary steps in the college admissions process. I took the ACT and SAT and I was quite disappointed in my scores, and I just disappointed in general that I had a hard time handling everything. I’m up to a 28 and my SAT is a 1690, which wasn’t as high as I was hoping for.
I was on the verge of just giving up, but I knew that it was better to have a 14& chance of being admitted than a 0%. I’m taking the ACT again, and I can’t take the SAT because I have to take the Subject Tests. I still have my essays to do, but all I have left are my recommendations and my essays, in which I have all of them started. I’m counting down the days until the Regular Decision deadline, and from then on, I can at least rest and enjoy the rest of my senior year until I hear from them April 1.

I fell out of the running way too early, but there are so many awesome colleges, everyone will find one perfect for them.

Even though I just finish my freshman year I know that I want to go to Stanford more than I want anything else right now. I think I have what it takes and I’m going to try hard. Guess I should start inventing some thong or start a company or charity….

4th Block: H English 11 – A; 94

CLUBS
Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Head Recruiter 2008, appointed Vice President 2008-2009
National Honor Society – elected as Reporter
Student Council – President
VOLUNTEER WORK

I still have to take the SAT and the SAT subject tests. I don’t know how I did on the AP exam until July. I took the ACT 3 times but I’ll take it again in September and October. My highest composite is a 27. Right now I’m just trying to make my application as strong as possible in several aspects.
Perhaps I’m shooting too high, but I’m always motivated by this quote.
‘Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.’

I found out i got in on Friday after going through being deferred early. It feels so good! I have literally wanted to go here for 7 years and have wished on stars, birthday cakes and random times (11:11) for this to happen. Usually i’m really unlucky so its amazing to for once have a dream come true. I can’t wait for September!!!
