I’ve been working on this for a while. There’s really two parts:
- eat dinner by a reasonable hour
- no more food after dinner
So no more filling up just before bed. It’s going pretty well so far except for Tuesday night pub trivia, though I consider social eating a reasonable exception. At home I have been drinking water or tea whenever I find myself wandering into the kitchen after hours.

I want to conciously stop eating after 7pm because this is the time that I stop thinking about what I eat and just fill myself with junk. I need to brush my teeth and say enough… my body has had enough to sustain itself and therefore let it rest. If I need to put something in my body then let me choose herbal tea which is warm and will comfort me.
