Ok, I have started this goal by doing abs since last week.

I really wish I could have a flat belly and I’m also going to the gym 3 times a week so I hope this all works out.

Looking at my last entry on this.. 3 weeks ago

it was June 14! I thought I’d have this done by early July! Well, let me tell you, that did not happen. I’ve been eating out a LOT for work, which means eating not the healthiest food and generally more of it than I really need. My ankle is acting up a little, so I haven’t been running, and as I live really far away from everything I haven’t been biking. Ack! My exercise recently has been bikram yoga, and that’s inconsistent at best. Well, that and walks and long hikes at work with full packs and carrying duckies, but that has nothing on greasy Mexican food. At least I’m not drinking beer right now. I really need to say no to desserts and watch my calories in other arenas. I think I might try sticking my bike on my car so that I can bike from work tomorrow and to work on Wednesday.

I’m setting a manageable goal for this. They say you can sustainably lose about a pound a week, right? Well, I think I need to lose somewhere in the realm of 10 pounds… so I think I should be able to have great abs by Christmas. Goal set.



On Demand Work Outs & 5 min abs 2 months ago

Abs have always been my favorite exercise to do. I already have strong abs but I need to work on burning more fat so they show through.

What I recommend for good workouts are: Incredible Abs with Cindy Whitmarsh (available on exercise tv).. It’s a 20 minute workout that works the entire ab area + obliques in a multitude of ways (not just crunches) and you don’t need any extra equipment.

I also do 5 minute abs after a cardio workout. Its 5 different exercises, each for a minute, continuously one after another.
1- make a v-shape sitting on ur butt holding ur legs out straight and ur arms out to the side. Clench abs and hold for 1 minute.
2-From that V shape pull ur legs in and twist body side to side for 1 minute to work obliques
3-lie on back and hold feet about 6 inches above the ground (you can put ur palms under ur butt if it helps keep u stable). Hold for 1 minute (should feel in lower abs)
4-standard crunches for 1 minute. (even better with a reverse crunch, pulling legs up and shoulders up at same time)
5-the plank- facing down, lift body into bridge on your toes and elbows. Hold for one minute clenching abs but don’t forget to breathe!

I also recommend Jillian Michaels Boosting Metabolism workout for cardio and a bit of strength training. It’s also available on demand and is an hour long workout consisting of various “circuits” that work the entire body

Back in the game 5 months ago

I dropped the ball on this, I was having ankle issues and this that and the other – but now I’m back, and I want to nail this one fast! My game plan is this: exercise enough every day to be sore the next day – and throw a little ab work in, too. Simple. Yesterday I ran an hour and rode my mountain bike for three, and I ran for an hour again today. I can feel it. Oh, I’m also trying to eat healthy. I had colossal salads for lunch both today and yesterday, I’ve decided to nix the evening beer, and I’m not eating anything resembling dessert unless I’ve done over an hour of cardio that day. My boyfriend is out of town for a few weeks, I want to be able to mark this as ‘done’ by the time he gets back. Wish me luck!

please help me do this 7 months ago

i was very athletic as a teen, very tiny, ballerina, cheerleader. But now i’m 33 5’2 and 120 lbs.
I can get this undercontrol quickly but dont’ know how or where to start. It is important to me because i want to be in top shape again so i can get pregnant. I want to be able to bounce back quickly after having children and i don’t want to cross the line of no return!

I’ve always wanted to have a flat stomach or at least have abs to show off :). It’s not only about losing weight but more about dedication and perseverance and I was never good at these when it came to my body. However, now I am quite motivated so I think I’ll give it another shot :).

I go to a huge university and I never utilize any of the gyms that the school provides. I always tell myself I’m going to and I never do. I think it would really help me fight my occasional depression, too.
Another thing is that I just got my belly button pierced and bathing suit season is coming up… which is even more reason to better my body and have nice abs.
I wannnnna have a hot body.

Geez! According to a Wii Fit I played on for a little bit a few months ago, my BMI is 19ish percent – which I thought was low – but apparently I need to knock it down by almost HALF to see my abs!!!!! That is not what I was expecting! Ah well, I’m still totally on it. I will conquer this goal before summer!
