Shame on me 1 year ago

I live right by the Charles River in Boston, yet I haven’t been on it once even with this goal up on my list. Oh the shame, lol.
Seriously though, I at least want to take up rowing as a recreation, not necessarily competitively (not that i would have stood a chance if i wanted to). I guess I am scared of being rejected by clubs, as I have a way too small figure and I was told in a very harsh and even degrading manner in the past that I was too small to row..:( I wish i was a 200lb pro athlete, darn.

enquired about this, found an option. But this is too expensive, tryin to capitalise on teh bangalore IT market… so.. kind of against my policy to join a club like this. need to look for a cheaper more for common people kind of rowing club.

i realized that i miss the structure of working towards a specific goal rather than actually being a part of a rowing team.

My Biggest Regret In College 3 years ago

When I was a college sophomore, the president of my fraternity chapter was the captain of the Varsity Crew Team. His older brother before him was also the captain. One day, he asked me to try out for coxswain because of my leadership skills and physical potential. I was flattered and I told him that I would give it my consideration. Later on, I turned it down. Why? I was “very busy” with my academic schedule and other “distractions”. —Looking back, I regret the decision because the suggestion was not asked lightly. He really wanted me to do it because I would’ve been perfect as a coxswain. Besides, college would’ve been perfect if I took part in some form of intercollegiate athletics. To this day, I still look back with disdain about my decision. -- Ironically, I ended up being the president of the fraternity chapter after his term. Funny, how things turn out, huh? —Anyway, that is the reason why I want to join a crew team. I want to fulfill an old college dream. It’s never too late, I guess. -- Besides, I just love the water and the sunrise! —Now, if only I can get up early in the morning and get on with it! -- “If there is no wind, row.” -Latin Proverb -- Progress Report: I just got the instructional CD titled “Rowing 101” from the Moss Bay Rowing Club located on Lake Union. But, I will more likely sign up with the Lake Washington Rowing Club. As soon as it warms up this Spring, I am going for it.
