i think it would do good for everyone to watch less tv, but thats’s just my opinion. For myself i want to eventually not watch tv at all. I mean, now you can get news and weather and stuff you need to know from the internet. I want to do this because there is so much you could do or get done instead of watching tv. Also most of the tv shows today are crap lol but really.

Just have to make sure not to get too reliant on your computer! 11 months ago

Helps if you live with people. Focus on life, not the box!

13 years, and I don't miss it 2 years ago

I got rid of my TV when I was living in a tiny student apartment and didn’t have room for both a TV and a computer. As a computer science major, it was easy to pick which one I wanted :)

It didn’t take long to realize that I didn’t miss the TV at all. There really wasn’t anything on that I wanted to watch anyway. It’s been more than 13 years now, and other than world cup soccer (which only happens every four years), I still don’t miss having a TV.

you wont even notice its gone.. 2 years ago

you can cross this goal off the list today…
reclaim your mind, your time, and your life.

For years we had a television, but we ket it in the closet on a rolling cart. I think you would be amazed by how little you will think about it if you cant visually see the thing. Or if it took 45 seconds longer to turn it on, how much less worth it it seems.

the world is addicted to a media that takes away your ability to think for yourself. sad thing is, i am too (blame it on living alone for two years, it’s nice to have some noise).
can i do it? is sbs an excuse to keep it? maybe just severely limit tube time.

Tired of TV 3 years ago

Sick of it! Reality TV and all those sentimental, unoriginal comedy and cop shows have got to go.

Take the noose off your ambition... 3 years ago

Best thing I ever did. I have more time to live real life instead of living vicariously through mindless “reality” shows (how’s that for an oxymoron?) Do it now!! You’d be surprised how easily you can do without it. I read more, have more conversations when people visit, get out more. I never watched it much when I had it but life has definitely improved since I got rid of that soul-sucking crap box. But I do love other people’s reactions when they realize I don’t have a television – they act as if it’s a requirement for life!
