But diving in Cozumel did. I’m biking more, I’m exercising daily. Now I have to start adding more activities to my life to keep the fitness theme going. Maybe start up the martial arts again.
I joined the DFW adventurers on meetup.com I love their byline “Get Braver friends”. They do so many cool things, I can’t wait to go out with them. They’re doing parasailing in July, but I’ll be on the road back from the Oshkosh Airventure flyin. I’ll have to wait for the next one.

Between labor around the house and rental properties, gym workouts, and Couch-to-5k program things are picking up. And not a minute too soon. My sister and her family are returning from china and will be staying with us for the month of June. At the end of June we are going to the Grand Canyon and are going to hike down. I’ve got some serious work to do to be ready for that!

The diet hasn’t been to good lately, but still staying active – swimming, biking, and doing a LOT of walking while in Stockholm for work. Back on the bike today, and looking to crank up the miles a bit if I get the Ok from the physical therapist this week.

and we rode in together, then took a bike ride afterwards. An hour later I had an hour of Physical Therapy, and then this evening rode the bike for another 1/2 hour.
It felt great!
Putting water bottles on my recumbent bike, I somehow messed up my bike computer – gotta get that fixed. Can’t stand not knowing how fast I’m going, or how long I’ve been out. Work is a bear this week but may get a chance to fix it Thursday or Friday.

Originally I though I would log my daily activity. I think I’m going to summarize the week, on a weekly basis, listing how many times I’ve done cardio that week.
This was a good week – 6 times. Of course going to Physical Therapy helps, that forces we to do the bike at least twice a week.
Monday school starts, and I’m going to ride to school with my wife and daughter. Year before last they rode to school almost every day. Last year they stopped, only riding occaisionally. This year we’re going to resurrect the habit – we all enjoy it. Then I can put in another 20 minutes immediately afterwards.

In-laws are in town, and the daughter is off school. This evening spent more than an hour in the pool playing and swimming. Still hope to get a walk in this evening.

As part of my primary goal of being in the best shape of my life, I will start to enjoy a more fit and active lifestyle. To that end:
I will spend at least 5 hours a week in Active, Outdoor activities, such as biking, swimming, walking, hiking, camping, geocaching, and playing sports. I will do this for the next 4 weeks, and re-evaluate the time spent doing this at that time.
I will log all daily activities under this goal.

Workouts are on again. The diet is starting to work a little after slipping horendously for a couple of weeks. I canceled going out to Networld + Interop for the big trade show in Vegas, knowing it would absolutely devastate this goal.
I have less than 4 weeks before I’ll be in China for a 5 week tour/vacation. I’d really like to drop another 10 lbs before then.

Ok, Started the diet – “Lose 30 pounds”

and put together a pretty decent garage gym, with a smith machine, dumbbells from 5 to 50 lbs in pairs, and 300 lbs of free weights. Conned my neighbor into working out with me, but after the first time we overdid it, and were useless for three days. Just got my second workout in, and John will join me tomorrow for a workout. I do so much better with a workout partner.
Now I need to start SOME kind of cardio, I think I’ll just start with a long evening walk with the dog, and in a couple of weeks work up to jogging.
Diet, Lift Weights, Do Cardio – and look good for Summer. Who’s with me?
