Hi Carrie,
Did you end up going to Taxco, Mexico to study silver smithing? If so, I would love to know how that turned out. I am planning on attending for Fall. I’ve been to Taxco once this year and I loved it. About a majority of the people who live there are artists, and it is a humbling experience. I especially love the market. It was like a labyrinth. Anyhow, if you know who I need to contact to stay there, I would love to know. I also wanted to know how the classes turned out. At the moment I am trying to pursue a career in jewelery design. Any information would be great. :)
Thanks,
Michele

I really want to go to Taxco, Mexico and take a silversmithing workshop. Taxco is the silver mining Mecca of Mexico and continues to produce the largest quantity of silver and the most unique pieces in all of Mexico. I have a background in jewellery design, but I feel that going to Mexico and spending some time with the artisans of Taxco would greatly improve my artistic ability. Plus, it would be cool to go to the Spratling museum to learn more about the history of the region and the craft of Mexican silversmithing.
