Being from here helps. But I highly recommend learning your way around Seattle via at least four forms of transportation: bus, bike, car and walking. I would not have found the Shetland Pony and goat who live together had I not been walking. I would not have experienced the strangeness of riding across 1-90 at night facing traffic so that you feel like you are in a video game had I not been cycling. I would not have discovered the cute part of Kirkland with the bohemian cottages had I not been on a bus. And I likely would not go to Discovery Park without a car.
