ok my goal is changing…to just do more sightseeing in general. over thanksgiving break hubby and i and son went to white sands it was soooo fun, probably not the best time to go after all the rains blocked off the innermost sand dunes, but still a blast, the drive out was beautiful too and we learned alot about the area and browsed in the book store…
las cruces hosted the renaissance fair this weekend. I didn’t go for the lamest reason, no cash (who deals in cash these days?) my son was taking a nap (Not really- my hubby could have stayed with him) i didn’t want to go alone (i would’ve been fine alone- or hey i could have taken my son who wasn’t napping after all) i was just plain lazy and reading a book i wasn’t all that interested in anyways, i think i was so just trying to veg out though, i didn’t really want to go walking around, i would have LOVED to go, but just didn’t have so much energy to go. argh!!! i’ll just have to catch that one next year
on the other hand we went to the las cruces natural history museum, lots of gross creepy crawling things and other stuff. It was fun to see all the native animals and learn interesting facts
oh we love jazz, sadly this year when we got there it started raining :’( Mesilla is such a quaint cute little town, cobblestone sidewalks and everything. We did get to go on a horse drawn carriage ride. Hopefully next year we’ll make it. I know there’s enough jazz going on though, that hopefully we won’t have to wait so long.
there is alot always going on. I want to go to as much as I can before we move in 2-4 years. A few weeks ago we went to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, a long drive and we didn’t plan out very well, but it was still fun, the fireworks there were awesome.
We also went to our local corn maze/pumpkin patch
then we went to the Xprize…they had a rocket bike which didn’t go off because of technical difficulties :’( they also had a rocket man…that was soo totally awesome, it was just like in the movies…he probably was in the air for about 100 yards or so. We saw a few competitions and small launches, flew in a flight simulator, it was worth getting up early, and freezing my buns off for the experience.

I just found out there was a chocolate festival in town last weekend. How did I miss that one? Probably a good thing as it wouldn’t go well with my weight loss goals, but still… what could be more scrumptious than the things at a chocolate festival??

We went with a group of friends last night to Concert in the Park. There was a great bank… wish I remembered their name so I could give them a plug. Great food and fireworks. It was a great family event! Lots of fun!

are there no festivals around the KC area this time of year??? I’ve looked all over and am having no luck. It must be too hot!
