Ok its a New Day ! 3 weeks ago

Open my eyes wide and stretch my arms and legs as much as I can.

Smile and Thank God for another New Day full of New Opportunities.

Do my prayer breads and ASK God for what I need to get done today.

Have wash – Get tea…

Have wash/shower get ready, make-up – fresh ironed ready clothes laid out the night before and jewellery to match.

Dash of perfume… Hand bag check – Lunch check – Mum check & I’m great to go ; )

Oh my, at the moment I don’t have any kind of routine for the morning, I just love my bed and it holds me hostage. I really struggle with the whole morning thing. Ideally, something like this would be a great way to start the day….I’ll write it out and pin it next to my bed…

  • open my eyes and stretch my arms and legs as much as I can
  • smile (ha!)
  • give myself a big morning hug
  • take 5 deep breaths
  • get up by 8am
  • do some gentle shoulder shrugs/neck rotations
  • teensy bit of yoga, 2 sun salutations?
  • shower – sing!
  • use home-made oil (almond oil with tea tree and lavender oil)
  • dress (get nice things ready the night before)
  • glass of warm water with fresh lemon
  • breakfast (porridge with soya milk and chopped dried fruit/seeds or fresh fruit and goats milk yoghurt/seeds)
  • clean and floss my teeth
  • blow a kiss in the mirror!
  • start my day


Interesting switch-up 1 month ago

Interestingly, I’ve switched up when I work on my business. I now get up at 5 am during the week to work on my stuff. This has an interesting effect because I am more likely to dedicate time every day to working, which I was having trouble with before.

So this shifts the goal of “Create a beautiful uplifting morning routine” into the realm of possibility. Woo hoo!

So far, I get up, make coffee, eat something very simple for breakfast, and head into the office for some quality time with the computer. The cat has been joining me too, which is very cute/nice. Awww…

Maybe next Spring/Summer, I’ll give working on the 2nd floor balcony a shot. Or sometime soon I could try stopping by a cafe to do the work. The possibilities are endless, so I should start experimenting to figure out what works for me.

Rise and shine 3 months ago

I want to get up and be able to enjoy that early morning calm and darkness, before the family awakens. I need to stretch or walk, to eat breakfast, and ideally, to pray. I also have some chores to do. I usually check my email, which leads to Facebook, which leads to loitering, then running late. During school, I also need to make some lunches. That’s a lot to do.

well, I don’t do this every morning but on the days I dont work. I get up early in the morning and go to the park which has an amazing view. I walk the trail and just absorbe nature and just ponder on God’s beautiful creation.



This week i'll try... 4 months ago

1) waking up with my alarm clock
2) Putting on water for tea and oats
3) writing my morning pages
4) Picking my Chopra cards

If I can successfully do that every morning this week, I’ll add in some yoga!

Wow I hate mornings 5 months ago

So I think will start with a weekly thing I’ve got to achieve for the morning.
Things I’d like to do:
Morning pages/dream journal/tarot journal
turn on radio/tv news and connect with world
drink water, have shower/wash/dress
stretch/yoga/meditate
But I’m a massive lazy bones and like to lounge around in bed daydreaming.
Would be nice to have an organised room to wake up to and something definite to do. This is why it helps to have pets, if it weren’t for them jumping on me, and making squeaking noises ridiculously early and continuing to do so till I walk/entertain/feed them I might do v v v v v v v little.

For the rest of this week and the one coming gonna make a short shower top of the agenda, to actually wake up, plus putting in contact lenses and when I’m out of bed to let it air and make it when I get back. But main thing-shower.

a realization 6 months ago

the best way to start my day is to just get it started. If I have been doing too many other things (or awake too many hours) before I get to work, I really lose my focus and motivation. The thing for me is getting to work and getting started, so I have some momentum.

So in a way, I have created a new routine: less snoozing, quicker showers, a shorter/maintenance free haircut, and eating breakfast at work, all of which have made a huge difference in my mood.

As much as I like the romantic idea of journaling, candles, and some quiet time in the morning, it’s not for me. I give up on this easily, because I learned something through the process.

hmmm... 7 months ago

filling my morning with lots of meaningful things is just not seeming to be possible. I have already determined that reading is best left for the bus. Today I realized that maybe 75 cents more is worth it for the express bus route that is more relaxing than my normal bus/train route.

I do want to try morning pages, though…I hear a lot about them…I want to give that a try before I write this off completely.
