I’m no supergirl, and I’m learning to accept that. I can’t do everything, and that’s OK. Hence, I must cut down my “to do” list for my morning routine to what I can actually do, and enjoy doing.
- wake up when my alarm clock goes off!! (6am)
- wash my face with cold water, brush my teeth, drink green tea (15min)
- exercise and deep breathing (45min)
- shower, apply moisturiser, spend time to look pretty (45min)
- prepare meals for the day (15min) 2 weeks ago

Okay, I’m struggling with the ‘me time’ part of this routine (the rest of the routine has been done for over 3 years now and is second nature). In fact, I haven’t managed to do it even once… so far. So, I propose the following baby steps until it sticks and I can add another step:
*Get up at 5.30am
*Get up at 6.00am
*Gentle excercise (15 mins)
*Shower, wash face, moisturize, antiperspirant
*Get dressed
*Meditate (5 mins) haven’t meditated regularly for a while, so starting slowly
*Take fasting meds
*Put load in washing machine
*6.30am wake daughter
*Blow dry hair, if washed
*Set table
*Prepare breakfast
*Eat breakfast at dining table with my daughter
*Take remaining meds and multi vitamin/mineral(probably 7.20am by now)
*Make packed lunch
*Make bed
*Hang clothes out if dry or hang up inside
*8.00am brush teeth 1 month ago

Baby steps… I’m going to mull this over for a few hours, then write my “to do” list before bed, so that I can start tomorrow morning. Actually, I have made a small conscious step towards this today already… I washed my hair, so that I can just have a shower in the morning, as the sound of the hair dryer at 5.00am would wake my daughter :) 1 month ago

I feel I`m done with this goal. My attitude towards mornings changed completely – I`m still a bit of a morning moaner and there`s lots to be done, but I really learnt to enjoy the little things and make more of those early hours. I`m particulary proud of breakfasts – not all of them are perfect, but I`m really getting better at preparing and eating ;o) It even makes me feel excited – all this planning what to eat the next day :o)

You know that feeling when you discover something new and deliciouls and you keep on eating the same thing over and over, day by day, until you get sick of it?
I discovered orange marmelade.
And I`m lost. 7 months ago

Not writing much about this goal, but still doing fine :o) However, I`m not confident enough to mark this as done since I keep on discovering new improvements about my morning routine. Ten additional minutes, thanks to getting up early, are my recent discovery – it`s unbelievable how such a small amount of time can influence my mornings. Suddenly it seems like I have additional hour :o) 7 months ago

How I did it: We live 10 minutes from the Med and on a Sunday afternoon while at the beach, I suggested we get up and swim in the ocean before going to work.
The next morning we woke up 2 hours earlier than we normally do and went down to the sea. The sun hadnt even come up yet and it was a wonderful experience.
Surprisingly I was so hyper from the morning exercise, it was exactly what I needed to complete this goal. Read how I did it… 9 months ago
