go on a hot air balloon ride

This was a Christmas present from my folks. Called, scheduled, done. Not spooky at all. Definitely colder than you think, but so incredibly quiet. I think it’s the quiet that really gets you. You can see the world below you and it seems so real…but you can’t HEAR any of it. Landing is a trip…do EXACTLY what your pilot tells you to do EXACTLY when he tells you to do it!!

This was so worth it… Beautiful views and it was so peaceful and quiet up there. Would highly recommend this to anyone!! Romantic too!

It was an interesting experience. I’d like to try one that isn’t tethered some day. I’m afraid of heights, so this is really a ‘face your fears’ thing for me.

and this one was not meant to happen, which is okay. We got our refund back and all is well. Some day we’ll go on one, and it will be awesome and we will put it back on our list. Somewhere over the rainbow :) I love my Michael for putting it together though and thinking about it for so long. Thoughts really do matter!

Really would like to do this… Maybe with my boyfriend. I think it would be really fun & romantic!

We went from just west of St. Louis and floated about 4 miles along, about 2,000 feet up. It was a sunrise ride and just totally rocked! I was initially worried about the height, wondering if it’d frighten me but it didn’t in the least. I also thought I might get cold, but the burner in the balloon kept us more than toasty!

I highly recommend this!!!

The feeling of just floating along very slowly…or not even slowly…but just going along with the wind. It’s very peaceful. Especially if you’re flying over a quiet area, which we were.

It’s magical to look up and see the big balloon and know that you’re in a basket tied to a balloon and you don’t know where the wind will take you…..

It’s even more magical to look out over the landscape slowly rolling by below you…it’s just….sort of dreamy.

With my dad in temecula. Here’s a pic. I wasn’t scared at all. The funny thing is you cannot feel the wind at all because you’re going with it. It is very still. The basket doesn’t shake at all.

I absolutely loved it…I wasn’t scared even a little bit.

What surprises you so much when you get up there is not just the view, though that is of course amazing. It’s how quiet it is when the flare’s not firing – and how much you can hear from the ground.
