find my life's work

I dont know what this goal is. But i know that I want to find the one thing that I will do better than anyone else that will make a difference to the world and to people in it. I dont know what I’m looking for, but I’m looking!

The longer I live, the more I am seeing how ridiculous it is to believe that I will ever have a “life’s work.” I have a lot of different work, and maybe it’s all important enough already.

Well, they say, “do what you love, and you’ll never work a day..” I’m not sure about that. There’s another philosophy that pretty much says, “You must work to pay the bills, and bill paying sucks.” I just want work I am comfortable doing. I finally got finished with my qualifications to teach grades 5-9, but my heart, I feel, might be elsewhere. I am better tutoring or counseling or one-on-one. I loved my internship where I could help the kids with math problems or vocabulary. I am also drawn to kids and people who don’t have it all together, who need extra help. Maybe an assistant’s position would be a good place to start? Life’s work? I just don’t know.

I don’t know if there is one thing that is my “life’s work”. Probably not.
