to relegate this responsibility to a professional. I shot some footage in New Orleans and have a friend editing it for me. I’ll try my hand at editing when it’s not for a school grade…
made it outside of the house today. It took a trip to Bristol, made through an assessment and is now waiting for me in my car while I finish my day at work. Since being packed up in its case this morning, it has not seen light. Baby steps :)
I have also been looking for a company to edit my home video. Editing is one of my passions, but I NEVER HAVE THE TIME. My 2 sons, Kaelan (4 1/2) & Aidan (16 months) grow up and change SO fast and I shoot a lot of video. Then the tapes just get stacked up and we NEVER watch them.
That’s why i have started my own company doing WHAT I LOVE. Editing peoples home videos. I am keeping the rates as low as possible, and still putting my website together. I can be contacted on ALANSHIEFF@HOTMAIL.COM
These movies turn out looking very professional with titles and beautiful transitions. They are a UNIQUE GIFT for parents, (Especially grand parents, in my case) and other family members, especially as we don’t live in the same country as my boys grand parents.
I will ask you to mail me your DV tapes with a deposit. I will then send you a mini DVD with a sample to check if you are happy with the sample, then I will continue the work.
Please contact me. My promise is to give you an end result you will be proud of (depending on YOUR camera work, of course, ha ha). Alan Shieff

I recently picked up a new 5th generation iPod with video. I really need to get into the conversion of my videos. I want to create a smaller version that I can put on my iPod to show others.

I figured out one thing last night while playing around on my Mac. I am going to have to understand iMovie and iDVD before I can make some good DVDs from my digital camcorder footage of my son as he was growing up.
I need to add the iLife ‘05 book to my must read pile! :)

This is one of the first thing that I am going to do when I get my new Power Mac this week. I have several Digital-8 tapes around from my sons early years including his “graducation” from his K3 and K4 classes at his daycare. I think I will play around with iDVD and see what I can do with that to create some nice presents this year for the grandparents.
