nibets is going to the zoo tomorrow!
in about 18 months and our house is only 7 years old, so we don’t need a full remodel, just need to paint and put in new floors, mainly. We started in one bathroom. And stopped. We also started painting in the entry way. And stopped. Didn’t like the accent color. This is too similiar to my #1!

We are doing Julius’ room first because it tis the smallest, and his carpet is coming undone, because he keeps picking at it. So, we went and purchased carpet lat night, but we don’t have the tool needed to put it in yet. His walls are painted, but we still need to do his ceiling. After that, he needs base trim, a new door, and a new light in his ceiling. I think that will be it! We’re coming along.

Josh and I were talking and if we do 1 room every 2 months, we could have our entire house remodeled in a year. Yeah, it is small. It sounds so achievable if you break it down like that. Now, just to do it…

We have a tiny house and though I love tiny houses, it would be great to have some office space that wasn’t in the middle of the living room or bedroom. Maybe take over part of the porch, maybe go up, maybe add to the side. Since we also have no garage, just a damp and cramped storage shed that I’d like to replace, I may combine the projects.
I’ve already installed a built-in bookcase, rewired, insulated the ceiling and floor, installed radiant heating and various other smaller jobs. What we have in mind would definitely be a bigger project, but probably worth it.

first time was for the house i’m living in now. drywall…the worst by far…sanding the pain is coming back please make it stop the sanding…
second time was helping a friend. wasn’t as bad, went a lot slower, but he had to get rid of the house before we were done, was sorta sad…
basically, I’d rather do something that I enjoy that makes money rather than remodeling a house from top to bottom to save that same money. especially the drywall…I could handle some light framing, some light plumbing, light electrical, almost enjoyed refinishing the hardwood floors…but I have zero tolerance for finishing drywall.

We bought our first house last year and I love it! BUT.. there are somethings we’d still like to do..
1) hardwood flooring on the middle level (it’s a trilevel home) 2)new carpeting in all the bedrooms… we currently have the new WHITE carpeting that was installed right before we moved in…YUCK!
3)Expand the fence to enclose more of our property (we have an acre and less than 1/3 of it is fenced) it will give our dogs more room to run.. plus I’d like to put up a wooden privacy fence instead of the chain link
4)brightly paint and furnish the bedrooms
5)some day remodel the kitchen

About 3 years ago we bought a 75-year old home in a very nice neighborhood. Now, we are talking about making some changes to increase the value of the house so we can sell in a few years and buy land out in the country. There are so many pieces to this project, it has been difficult to know where to start. Thinking is good.
