Anyone have any experience with any hiring an on-site personal assistant who works 10 – 20 hours / week and does things like laundry, dishes, calling service people like plumbers when needed, doing errands and misc junk?

I hired a housekeeper a month ago who is also a personal assistant. I was hoping to have her do shopping and minor errands for me.
Big problem: They want a minimum of four hours of work in one day. My needs in this department are very light, though.
She finished cleaning my apartment very thoroughly in well under four hours, and I had no additional tasks ready.

People yak about discipline, keeping your own house in order, planning the work and working the plan, scheduling an unpleasant task and doing at that time whether you feel like it or not, blah blah blah. Bottom line, that doesn’t work, at least for me.
Solution: Just pay someone else to do the jobs I don’t like doing or that are fragmenting my attention. I’ve hired housekeepers in the past, and been very pleased. Unlike when I do it, the job actually gets done regularly. This time, I want to hire someone who will do more than just clean my apartment, though housekeeping is still the primary chore I want to pay for. I’m going to hire someone who will run errands like shopping for specific things, as well as doing laundry (easily done while cleaning the apartment).
I posted an ad on craigslist and got six responses before I deleted the ad. Today I asked one to email me some references to call.

dj63 is avoiding work.
Should I contact one of these people in the classifieds looking for “caregiver” jobs? Or better yet, maybe I should contact the career center at school. Certainly a college student would fill the bill…
