jetmoore is wondering what thing will be crossed of the list first.
Once I started this 43 things list, it sharpened the focus on a few ideas. Wanting to write an hour a day used to feel an impossible goal. I managed to get in 30 minutes. Then I realized I have some level of trouble going back to sleep if woke up at night to use the bathroom.
Now, I use that time to write. I stay in bed writing by the light of the MP3 touch screen. I have more peace when I wake up. And a little smile too, because I have accomplished a goal!

when i picked up this goal, in was to finish a bunch of half written stuff as a creative outlet. but i dont have the time just hanging around, and im not motivated or willing enough to make time for this. its simply not my prioity right now. perhaps one day i will get back to it, but im going to let this go for now.

I’m been writing between 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Now I want to do it every day, maybe take one day off a week.
I’ve set to do this for the next two months so I will be done with this goal on October 9, 2007.

Yes, yes, yes – I suppose I write an hour a day just with e-mails but that wasn’t what I meant when selecting this goal. Need some focus, here. Haven’t started a novel, just writing from life. Actually think I need to amend this to 15 minutes a day. Just read a book “The Fifteen Second Principle” all about how the first fifteen seconds are the hardest, getting started, facing our fears. Writing is scary because of the self exposure – so much facing my own garbage, mediocrity – to get to the good stuff. Oh well – won’t pay to wait another decade or so – how much time (life) do I have, anyway? Have two pieces I need to rewrite – one won’t take long – the other is really stuck. At least found myself a couple of great local writing groups – meet-ups, actually, but the folks are serious and excellent writers.

I write for a living anyway- but yes, writing what’s in your heart, even if it’s only one page, one paragraph, one line a day is a therapy in itself and I highly recommend it!

JP Creighton rising to shine on a rainy cloudy May Sunday;waiting for coffee, here.
Time is running out.
OH, I got some poetry sent back to me yesterday because I hadn’t sent the correct fee. Five dollars a poem is too much, anyway.

I used to write for an hour a day, but it went out the window sometime last year. I wanna pick it up again: starting the 23rd. Sometimes I will feel like writing and sometimes I won’t, but this is important.

ok, ok, mebbe an hour is too long – mebbe start very small – I’ve heard we’re really programmed to make small changes – like for weight loss – I heard one author suggest running around during one commercial for the couch potato set – such a tiny beginning, but at least it is a beginning. Mebbe strive for one paragraph a day which will undoubtedly not stop at a paragraph.
