Not sure how to “finish” this goal, but I am one of those crazy people that likes languages and I’ve got a few crammed into my head. English (of course!) and Spanish, French, and German from high school and then Koreans! Though I am NOT claiming to be good at any of them—I forget which is which sometimes… :)

I haven’t owned a TV since high school and I don’t plan on buying one anytime soon. If I did, it would be for watching DVDs. I do like some TV shows, like Alias, but I only starting watching it after it was canceled. For the most part, TV is a waste of time and an energy-draining evil of the modern era. I’d rather be obsessed with the internets. <3

Also, I worked at Mickey D’s when I was 16 and because I know how greasy the food there is, I’ve avoided eating it as much as possible. Though sometimes I get a yearning for the chicken nuggets from my childhood. :)

It’s only certain religions cultures.

I’m not a hater, I love america. I just think it’s funny.
It’s a select few people who make the country look bad.

I think this will be more of an action, and less of words thing, so I’m going to mark this as done.

We’ve got a war going on that congress keeps funding. That’s the real big news story of the day (or at least it should be.) And I’ve heard all the excuses about protecting the troops, equipping the troops, supporting the troops, bla-de-freakin’ da. But all this funding the troops keeps the war going on, and continues to put them in harm’s way, and further escalates the big messy quagmire.

So, yeah, I realize there are other news stories and they can’t just talk about Iraq and Afghanistan 24/7, but geesh, there must be something else of importance to report on…..

But nope!, think again. The top story is Britney and K-Fed.

Now, I used to like Britney when she was this cute, adorable young girl, but then she grew up, “or maybe grew down is more like it.”, and turned into something, well… I’m not even sure what the right word is. and K-Fed is fed off her money so there you go.

Yeah, Celebrities with drug and alcohol issues, with spouses who mooch and get custody of the kids. WTF??? Am I watching the news or a watered down Jerry Springer show? And at the end of the day, why do we even care what Britney and K-Fed are up to???

Does anyone remember when the news actually reported well, uh, you know. NEWS!!!!!

I like my burgers and my TV, but this is a very valid point.

I don’t know what else to say about this right now.

Maybe it will be more of a lead by example sort of thing.

because a friend of mine told me how happy he is to finally have a real conversation with me (through an interpreter whose Japanese is better than mine) because, and i quote, “sometimes i hate America, but i like you.”

i think that says it all.

I will always try to do this. I hope i ALWAYS am able to this wherever my life takes me…

The more i’ve studied of Humanities/Religious Studies, the more i see the unity of all mankind. I hope i share this view with whoever i meet…

Wherever I go, this comes up almost immediately. I consider my job (teaching English abroad) to be secondary to this particular goal. And kudos to whoever originally wrote it with such refreshing honesty.

tell me all the time” you guys are not typical Americans”We are not mortgaged to the teeth,our cars are paid off. We do go to fast food a couple times a month if I need to run the kids from school to the Dr.s and not as our main source of food.I know English,French and Spanish.I love my TiVo but we have only one TV and no cable.I live in L.A. I don’t know of a bigger melting pot, I love talking to people they are so interesting.If men carried a baby in their body and gave birth I really don’t think we would have war PERIOD My Brother,Dad,Uncle,and Great Uncles all served in the Navy and one Uncle in the Air Force.I’m proud they did, but sadly, it is one of those necessary reality’s.Keep up the good work all!
