I run, walk, run, walk. I just want to run. Running magazine has some really good articles especially for beginners this month.
I’ve found that having some good tunes also helps.

How I did it: I told a friend, who happens to be training for a marathon, that I would like to start running. So this friend shows up at my door the next day and drags me on a 1.5 mile run. I protested the whole way, but was glad I went when it was over. The next day I ran 1.7 miles with the same partner. Day three a took a break, because I was so sore (from not running or doing any meaningful excercise in nearly a year). Day four I ran 1.7 miles again… Read how I did it…

I completed a full three miles for the first time today.

Reached a major milestone today – 2.75 miles in a half-hour. I’ll be maintaining this for the next week at which point, I’m going to try for the ultimate goal – 3 miles.

I haven’t gone running in months… I take Yoga now, so I’m still exercising, I just haven’t done that sort of cardio…
I know I need to get back to it, but finding the time to do so is VERY difficult with the schedule I have right now..

I’m up to two miles already. I certainly feel like I can go further, so starting tomorrow, I’m upping it to 2 and 1/4.
I just ran 1.75 miles the other day. I’m over half-way towards my goal!
You know, I’ve been doing this the complete wrong way: no warm-ups because I want to get straight to the business (or otherwise I wouldn’t do it at all). Also, I start fast and then slow down when I’m out of breath, which is the exact opposite of what you should do, but one of the reasons why I actually feel like going for a run at all is that in the beginning I feel like I’m flying. So I have to do this my way; I can learn about the more effective techniques later, when I’ve developed some confidence in the fact that I can run and I can have fun doing it.

I have been REALLY BAD about running lately… Say, once in the last two or three months? Yeah, REALLY bad… But I’m going to try to get back to it… 3 miles in 30 minutes is still the goal… I’ve set myself back pretty far because of my time off, but I can still do it. (The one time I ran, I actually went 3 miles… Don’t ask how long it took – I don’t know and I’m sure it was really bad…
Today: 1.2 miles without stopping! It’s really rewarding that in the beginning, the progress is really fast. Also, it’s great great great to feel like I can do something I never could before. I don’t have to stop where only a few weeks ago I did have to! I’m reclaiming my own body, it seems.
I just bought running shoes! Testing them out, I found out I can run like 0.5 miles without stopping. I’m in decent shape but running obviously takes a lot of practice. Whatever, I’m so bad in this that the only way is up. And I’m having fun at it!
Well i tried to to do three miles yesterday after work and i did it…... it did take me 50 minutes though!!!!.
the most i managed to runs was 3mins at a time oh weel its a start.
Think i going to try and do 1.5miles in the morning and then again after work. That gives me my three miles a day and might have some extra energy to run more than walk.
It is unbeliveable how unfit you can get in a year…oh well suppose i need to start somewhere.
Positive thoughts to everyone:)
