I’ve been 3/4 done for 2 years. With my leg bunged up right now, it should be a pretty good time to finish the project.

Last day of August. Saturday’s my birthday.
I’m doing crossword puzzles as if they’re accomplishing something. There is a never-ending supply of the damned things! I’ll never get them all done!
Activity is not Accomplishment.
“Keeping Busy” does not get the job done. It’s not satisfying.
What are the pluses of completing Report from Strider?- Sense of satisfaction
- Ability to share the adventure
- Accomplishment—getting the axe from over my head
- Publication
- (Small) Opportunity for income
- Credibility
- Recognition
- Ease for the next book
- Self respect
Punish, punish, punish! Browbeat, browbeat, browbeat!
- Study not yet useable. Should take only one more session.
- Time I spend in the garden—and then I’m worn out
- Crossword puzzles
- Jim Richerson—re: Malta ruins
- read/edit/note Shakedown cruises
Jim got me one more bookcase and now I have all my books organized and in cases. That takes about 3 more boxes off the floor.
Reorganized the study closet—got rid of a few things.
Have a few more things on and under the desk to sort & put away before I have an “ideal” workspace.
Started reading/editing/posing questions.
I’ve gotten the study pretty well cleaned up & organized. Only have a few more things to do there (See: Read all my books). An organized accessible workspace makes it easier to sit down to write.
I have also sorted the materials on hand.
Actions for August:
1. Re-read with minor edit
2. List questions which need to be answered & sections which need to be written
Complete:
1. Prelude/Interlude
2. Through Bermuda
I’ve been playing with this for 3 to 4 years now. For the last 18 months, it’s been 2/3 done. It’s time to finish so I can relive the adventures, so I can share the adventures, so I can get this axe from hanging over my head. If I get caught up with another enthusiasm without making this a priority, I’ll never complete it.
This needs to be Priority #!
