A problem of time... 10 months ago

I bought the complete set of 4E core books, and the system looks much better! I just haven’t had time to play. I really want to.

Just not terribly feasible right now. 16 months ago

    See above.

This (D&D and RPG goal) shall rest for now. 21 months ago

I still miss RPG board games, and so does my wife, but we have found a board gaming group in town.

They are a little closer to our ages, albeit older. When we did LARP and RPG, membership tended to skew young, and so this is a nice change of pace.

Will write more when opportunities arise.

We had a group going for a while, but we kind of stopped hanging out. I really think it’s important to have a gaming group that you like to do stuff other than game.

There’s this monthly local D&D meetup in my area. Unfortunately, I’ve had to work during almost all of them. It’s weird because I only work one weekend a month—and the event always happens on the weekend I choose!

I’d like to play: DnD, Paranoia, and while I’m not a vampire lover at ALL I kinda liked the one time I played the White Wolf Vampire game. Actually, I think that was partially because I liked the system. Also, someone was telling me about a diceless system and that sounded interesting.

Last time I played the DnD it was 3.5. I am slightly curious about 4.0, though if WoTC plans to “upgrade” every few years forever, I will give that up really fast.

Long story short. I just want to some tabletop rpg. I’d really like that.

I used to play this quite religiously with my group of friends for quite a long time.. Haven’t played it in years though, Its pretty good fun just time consuming (epically when your the DM running things like I was)

I’m with those that want to do it again.

I’ve purchased Neverwinter Nights, but I still pine for actually rolling some dice and filling out some character sheets.

For some reason, my old DM from high school/early college just won’t make it happen. He has tried to put together a quality group for my wife, myself, his companion, and a few others, since, I suppose, we pull fewer dumb stuff than his current group, but we just can’t get the numbers he wants. Last game we played was a count of 5 players including Cimmy (my wife), myself, him, his companion, and one other friend, but he wants a group of about 6-8. Oh well.

It’s an amazing RPG if you have interesting people to play with. Really fun!

D&D is great fun. Anyone new to the game definatly wants to pick up a D&D basic game. Once you get the hang of that, then AND ONLY THEN get the Player’s Handbook, Dungeon Master’s Guide, and the Monster Manual. Get them in a set if you can, it’s cheaper. Do not go straight to the three books. You won’t know where to begin.

Those were the days! 3 years ago

There was a group of five, one being the DM™ of course. We played 2nd Edition, using the Forgotten Realms as our world.

We had a fairly typical cross-section of player types: a rulus magistarius, a guy who only played fighters all the time, and then myself and one other who actually tried to roleplay (usually failed, though).

We had a lot of fun playing that game, and I shudder to think about how much money we poured into TSR – so much so, that we couldn’t believe that they could run out of cash when we heard that Wizards of the Coast bought them!

I bought the 3rd Edition Player Handbook when it was released, but I’m not entirely sure where it is.

Is it weird that I miss playing that game?

Finally got everyone together. Now it’s a once a week thing, and awesome.
