drive a race car

my dad takes either my brother or I to the Indy 500 every year. watching those cars fly around the track is one of the coolest things i’ve ever seen. i can’t imagine being able to experience that sort of thing first hand. but its a goal of mine now none the less.

and I have driven muscle cars but never a true race car on a track. The Auto Club Speedway let’s you drive out on the tracts, including this weekend in Fontana.

I drove 181 MPH at Talladega with Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure.
They were the only school I could find that would let us pass and draft each other. Most of the other schools made you follow behind an instructor who hardly let you get any speed. I even came across a few schools that didn’t use a Hans device?!

I went out with 13 of my relatives and we all had the times of our lives.

I think they speak volumes about what kind of experience this is. The funny thing is.. most of them didn’t even like NASCAR but what kind of guy doesn’t like driving 180 MPH?!

I want to drive a nascar & indycar but I don’t know how to drive stick. should i learn to drive stick? also any recommendations on who to do the race car driving with (program name)?

I love watching Grand Am Koni Cup and SPEED World Challenge. Would love to do a track day event with a car club.

I dig driving my little sports car and I would love to learn and actually drive a race car – that would be so invigorating anc challenging!

ive dreamt about switching gears and going fast since i started driving, so much so that when i got my first stick shift years later- i glided from 1st to 2nd to 3rd in one fell swoop, my instructor was amazed, then i stalled when i stopped, never dreamed of stopping!

Strange present for a girl but I’m now hooked on motorsport and have never missed a Formula 1 race on TV since then no matter what time it is on and where I am in the world.

I drove a Formula First car (no speedo just rev counter) around Brands Hatch. It was so fast and seemed even faster as I was so close to the ground. There are great bends and a difficult hairpin (uphill on the way into the hairpin and fairly steeply downhill out of the hairpin) on the circuit. I drove the shorter circuit as the long (ex-F1) circuit includes going through large amounts of woodland.

I went to the British Grand Prix last year and have been to Monaco (not on the race weekend) and walked the track. As it is a street circuit there are so many parts of the roads that bear the marks all year round (eg the grid markings, red and white kerbs).
