Hi! Well, this is my dream,to live there,in South Korea.
I am planning to finish my highschool, then move and undergraduate there. Is there someone here in the same position, that could guide me or…give me some info?
Thank you so much,people.
As most of you guys I’m planing or better said, dreaming about living in Korea for some time. I’m about to start studying Korean here in Sweden and hopefully there after get the opprtunity to continue my studies in Korea, that would really be something. So I was wondering if any of you that has some experience could tell me a little about how it was for you, how the living is and so on ….Is it very expensive as Japan for example ?? Any kind of information would be greatly appreciated
I lived & worked in southern south korea for 4 years. I had great times and not so great times, but ultimately am really really glad I did it. Do yourself a favour and try to reside outside of the city (especially avoid Seoul) if you want to experience true Korean culture.
Go to korea with no assumptions and it will be good.
Go to korea thinking about how much you love DBSK or Winter Sonata, or how great the food and culture is, or any other thing you discovered OUTSIDE of Korea….and you’re going to have to wait a lot longer for it to reveal its charming side to you.
Korea is millions of people with so much in common with each other, but so little in common with you. That being said, I had a tremendous time and thought of nothing but returning for the first 6 months after I moved back to the US.
After finish my all my school-yrs. I definitely wanna spend a few yrs in Korean, study there language + culture. Eventhough this is not an easy thing to do, since my family probably gonna go against this idea and living apart from my family in some unfamilar land could be very tough. I just hope i have an oppotunity, if not, I’ll make it happen
After highschool, then after undergraduate, then graduate school, (and hopefully internship+residency) i’m gonna live there permanently :)
jooyoung is studying alot.
This is a goal that I hope to accomplish at some point, but right now, I am kind of stuck here until I finish school.
I am going to put this one on the back burner.

I only lived their for 15 months but it was an unbelievably eye-opening experience. I was far from fluent in Korean but could converse enough to show that I cared to try—this made a big impact on people I met. I was touched by how many people truly went out of their way to help me when they saw that I cared about their language and culture and when I acted like a guest rather than an “entitled American.”
Korea is one of the two countries I would be happy to move back to if circumstances allowed it.
