More of a long-term goal, but a must.  — 2 months ago

I don’t think I’ll be doing this anytime soon (or in the near future) because of the cost, but once Virgin Galactic lowers their fares, which they say they’ll do once they’ve been operating for a while, (or if they get competition) I’m booking a flight on the next spaceship! I simply cannot die having never done this. At one time, flying in an airplane was considered a luxury for the rich and privileged.

i'm not completely cynical about this  — 2 months ago

i was thinning out my 43things because i wanted to add more, and getting rid of any that i judged “unrealistic”. so that means that i do believe that sometime in my lifetime i’ll have the chance to go to space. at which point i’ll not buy a huge house or car, and save the money to go to space.

I Live in an Era Where This is Possible  — 3 months ago

In the not too distant future, you’ll be able to pay $100,000 to go to space – briefly. A quick up and down – but technically outside the atmosphere.

How could I not do it?

I’d rather drive crappy cars and have a house that’s a bit less nice to be able to experience this.

I don’t have the money yet (see other goal: Get out of debt) and they’re not ready to sign up customers yet – so this works out.

I’m old enough to remember, at a young age, watching the first lunar landing. Just amazing! If I can experience space, even briefly – I have to.

ooh! I definitely hope that when I’m a little older and have more (much more) money, I’ll be able to afford to try Virgin Galactic’s flight into space.

working on it  — 1 year ago

I got to 18,000ft so far. Not too bad since the aircraft I had was built in 1957 and ran on 100LL. One day I’ll get to see the black sky.

zero g trip  — 1 year ago

good to see that so many people want to experience weightlessness. For what I am about to write next, please only reply to me if you are serious about it.

I am an artist directing a project involving performances in zero g in Star City, Moscow on September 3,4 this year. I have been allowed to sell three tickets to the performances (Myself, Stelarc and Luke Jerram) and the buyer will have a space in the aeroplane and accommodation in the space hotel as well as a tour of the training site for cosmonauts. The trip is $5000 and flight may be included if coming from Europe, but it would need to be met by the participant if coming from USA.

It’s the one last thing I have to do before I die.

It’s one of my dreams to be weightless.
