Great fun, But Alot harder than it looks. Once you learn to center you’ll be fine!

GettaClue is self-actualizing
My husband surprised me with a private lesson at a pottery studio for my birthday. I was amazed to find that it was very easy for me and I was able to create two beautiful pieces with little real effort and no obvious flaws. It was as if my hands somehow sensed exactly what to do. I can’t wait to do more!
Be patient with yourself as you learn. It takes time and A LOT of mistakes. Traditional Japanese potters, I have heard, smash their first 5000 pots. Talk about non-attatchment!
Just know that you’re not going to be making a set of dishes your first time at the wheel. I’d give yourself at least a 6 month learning curve. I’ve only been throwing for 5 years, and I’ve SO much to learn.
