Kaylee is my half-brother (David)’s daughter.
He, and my half-sister Jamie (who I’ve never met, another goal ;]), are from my mother’s frist marrige. Their father left her and took them with him. David contact my mother a few years ago, and I’ve met him twice, and keep in contact with him everyday. Jamie [who found out around the time we got in touch with David that her stepmother wasn’t her real mom] wants nothing to do with my mother.
David, like his dad, went into the airforce out of high school. He’s a tech sargeant, and married Rhonda [who’s also in the air force]. After moving from Flordia, to Alaska(where my niece was born), to now California, David was sent to the Persian Gulf, leaving Kaylee and Rhonda in a home where they knew no one.
My mother visited them in CA before David left. He is supposed to come home early. Yay!
On December 28th, I’m going to California to meet my niece, and see Rhonda, fer the holidays.
Really good present, eh?
born in South Africa, and still lives there with her mom. Even though Nandi has her American citizenship, my brother is still working to get his wife her green card. I understand that INS has to be careful that people are just getting married to get green cards, but you would think they’d ease up a bit when they have a kid together! They’ve been working on it for a year and a half now.
