    Horseback? 1 week ago

There’s a riding version of this trek, which Lesley found. Sept 2010 I think. It could be a possibility.

I want to do the 7 day multi-sport which includes 4 days of hiking up into the mountains to Machu Picchu. I also want to be at Machu Picchu on December 21, 2012, but the trail is closed in December.

I saw a video that my professor made of him hiking Machu Picchu… not my thing. Hot, high, and hard. I’m out. Good luck everyone else!

...is the Mountain seen behind Machu Picchu. Make sure to save a day to climb to the peak of this Mountain! It’s an amazing view you don’t want to miss!!

Machu Picchu is incredible. It is beautiful and full of history. Go right at dawn to see the sunrise…..gorgeous and it is not as overcrowded with people then.

The home of a great civilization 3 years ago

After experiencing the adventures and scenery of “The Motorcycle Diaries”, I’ve become infatuated with traveling to South America. I am particularly intrigued with Machu Picchu – ancient Inca city perched high in the Peruvian mountains. Most of its surroundings is dense bush and this coupled with its tremendous height, make it quite a trek and adventure. This ancient city is made up of approximately 200 ruins/buildings – and although it is no longer inhabited, it is filled with the life and legacy of the grandeur of the civilization that created it and once resided in it.

Some day… I’ll make it out there and perhaps the journey will so enhance my perspective that I will dedicate my life to a worldwide revolution to free the poverty-stricken third world (and the third-world-like communities that exist in “developed” countries) from the oppession of capitalism and racism… ; )

I watched the Celebrity Adventure, a reality show at E Channel.. and it was the episode where the celebs go to Machu Picchu.. the serene and beauty of it was very tempting. I wish to go there someday :)
