I’ve seen a number of goals here about the NSK passport and it looks like a lot of people are falling for it as a scam. The NSK stands for Neue Slowenische Kunst and is the name of an art collective based in Solvenia. Among their projects is the band Laibach). They issued a “passport” as a keepsake for their fans. It is not an actual travel document. It will mark you as a fan of the band, but it is not a citizenship document. If you don’t know what a Western passport really looks like, it looks realistic, but it was issued as a joke and a souvenir. The idea was that people could get their passport stamped or signed by the band members at each concert or gallery event that they went to.

At one point it was easy to get one through an online form. However, many desperate people have been trying to get one of them believing that they will then be a citizen of Solvenia and the EU. People have paid up to 300 euro for these fake papers. Nigeria and Cairo are two hotspots for this scam and the Solvenian government has even issued a warning.
