CloverFoxx its not getting what you want. its wanting what youve got
i want to save up enough money that i can get the terrace fixed up all nice and proper, for my parents.
then, i want to take that terrace and turn it into something beautiful. irrigation is apparantly a problem, but im sure someone can figure out how to make a flower/herb/vegetable garden manageable. with stairs up the side of it so its easy to climb, and maaaaybe a fountain in the middle. and lots and lots of windchimes at the top. mom’ll love it. need to start sketching ideas so when i have the money i can jsut be like this is what i want do it now.

I planted my first garden (by mistake) when I was eight years old.
I had been digging a 2×4 foot hole to bury some prized possessions (white figurines from a Corn Flake packet promotion) – Hey I was 8 and they were my special thing!) :)
A neighbour who become a friend gave me a cutting off a red geranium that I commented looked very pretty in her garden. She was a few years older than me and told me all I had to do was put it in the ground and water it.
Mum had yelled at me about the big whole which had filled with water from the rains we had (it used to rain when I was a child :]) and told me to fill it in. I negotiated that if I could have that area of ground as a garden I would fill in the hole and create a wondeful garden.
Mum agreed with conditions.
Ever since then I have grown all sorts of flowers and vegetables. It is a never-ending source of enjoyment, fun and relaxation.
Nowadays I grow fruit trees too.
The vegetables and fruit are nice to eat and the flowers are lovely to take photos of, and just enjoy.
My advice, start small and let your love for gardening grow.
The easiest way is to start with geraniums because they are almost unable to be killed. If you can’t grow a geranium then…
Even pot plants. Put a small piece of geranium in a pot. Give it about 300mls of water and leave it in part shade for two days then water again. You will get to know when it needs water by watching its leaves. When the leaves drop just a little it needs water.
HINT: I never over-water any of my plants because they become reliant on the drink. Make then strong, restrict the water until it’s absolutely necessary. However, I always allow rain water to fall on them whenever it does – mother natures water is so much better than tank or town water. You’ll see what I mean when you study the growth of your geranium.
Most of all. Have fun!!!

So it is fall time now. Not so good for my garden – not a garden. My garden is just several pots on the deck, some of them certainly I will take inside, some maybe transplant to other pots and help them live more. But the other will die with the first frost. Well, in nature they would die anyway, the annuals. But I will miss them, they green, leafy colors and scents. Boooo, season changing…

No, I didn’t plant any dates. I don’t think they would grow here. But I’m testing how dates work in the iPhone app.

I bought some plant starts last night. They came with a pretty great website URL: http://www.eatyouryard.com/Now I need to get in there and actually weed, clean up, etc. I’ve been lazy about because it’s been raining every day I’ve thought about doing it. My CSA farmers justblogged about harvesting in a hailstorm so I think I can handle a little rain while I deal with my 15 sq ft garden :)

Hey, today my husband and I ate the first tomato from our little cherry tomato plant. It was little, orange guy. Very tasty. yum, yum
More of them is still growing.
I forgot to take the picture though. What a shame. Next guy will have its own portrait for sure.
As for other plants they are growing like crazy. I would have never imagined that little plant can be so efficient. Basil, mint, sage, rosemary – there is always abundance of them. We eat a lot of veggies and use lots of herbs, we cut them constantly, but they grow and grow again. Of course weather helps a lot, sunny days change with raining ones regularly. I am so proud of my little plants.
Chives, dill and oregano are not such champions though. Well, maybe they are more seasonal like dill. And next time I will plant oregano in different pot and different place. Oregano is growing, but definitely could do better.
Pepper plant has got flowers so far. We are waiting for fruits eee vegies;-))))

I finally weeded out most of my garden and I saved about 10 of the 48 sunflowers that I planted. I think one of my sunflowers is a suntree, I have never seen a sunflower this massive. My pumpkins are just doing amazing! The vines for my pumpkins are growing at an alarming rate, They are starting to grow outside the fence and they are trying to take over other plants. My main problem is the groundhog. The groundhog lives under my neighbors trailer and feeds off of the apples from their apple tree. Well the groundhog ran out of apples and now it has found my garden. I’ll have to act fast or no pumpkins this halloween :)
