Still have some boxes to go. They are all over the spare room. I’m going to have to keep at this goal and set a new date for the personal challenge. I WILL get it done though. 2 years ago

My mother has graciously allowed me to store my two Rubbermaid containers with my Christmas ornaments and decorations at her house until December. It’s a relief to be able to have those out of the way.
So now, let’s see.
There are 9 boxes/baskets in my room to go through, and then lots of miscellaneous crap in bags and general clutter. No wonder I feel stressed out and uncreative.
I just have to remember:
One box at a time.
Is it beautiful and/or useful?
If I was moving across the country, would I want to have to ship it/store it/move it again? 3 years ago
This one was full of stuff from university… I went through it and got rid of all the junk, including the actual box itself since it’s got a huge crack in the bottom of it! 3 years ago
My mom is renting out her condo, so I went over to her place to go through a couple of storage boxes that I still had there. With the help of my friend Kendryth, I managed to fill up a garbage bag full of… well, junk! Got rid of enough stuff to clear out my mother’s laundry basket that had been full of my stuff, I’m sure she’ll be happy to have that back.
Now I have to get back to cleaning and decluttering my apartment, since I’ll be moving at the end of the month! 3 years ago
My mom helped me empty 3 more storage boxes. I’m so sick of looking at stuff. I wish I could be a monk or a nomad and just rid myself of everything! 3 years ago
I’ve emptied another one today, although right now I can still see 11 more in the immediate vicinity! I have WAY too much stuff. This sucks. 3 years ago
I need to complete this goal again, but now it’s because I’ve moved to a new apartment and I’m trying to function around all these stupid boxes. Plus, I can’t find anything! 3 years ago
Cleared out the two boxes in my closet and two under my bed. Progress is being made! I now only have one small basket of junk to go through from those boxes. I keep finding more stuff though.
Left to do:
- 2 pink storage boxes
- craft supplies box
- boxes with old toys in them (kijiji/ebay) 4 years ago
Full of my university papers and yearbooks. I cleared out some space on my bookshelf for them. 4 years ago
From the “visible mess” that I’m trying to get rid of, that leaves 3 visible boxes in my room + laundry basket… plus all the miscellaneous crap that’s lying around.
EDIT: January 14, 2010, FINALLY cleaned out that laundry basket that’s been full of stuff for TWO YEARS… jeez. Clearly I have a problem! 4 years ago
Wow. I have found MORE crap.
I have four boxes (and a laundry basket full of stuff) sitting on the floor in my room.
I also have two boxes under my bed, and two in the closet. So technically that’s 9 boxes to go through.
At least it’s contained to my bedroom…?
EDIT: cleared out two boxes under bed and two in closet on November 25 4 years ago
I still have two boxes to do, and I have to clean out the boxes under my bed and in my closet. But for the most part, they’re done. They’re out of the dining room, which was the main goal.
So technically, it’s sort of done. Done enough for now. 5 years ago
14 boxes left to sort, and many of them aren’t full.
That sounds like a lot, but I’m pretty sure I had more than 30 before.
I will be so relieved when this is all done. 5 years ago
I HAVE to get through these boxes… they’re in the dining room and driving me crazy. I just have too much stuff. 5 years ago
...! A box of mostly magazines. I recycled less than half and emptied the box, putting the cooking magazines on the cookbook shelf and others next to the bed. I really do have to stop buying those stupid magazines. Crikey, I don’t have time to read all this stuff. 6 years ago
..It was a box of vitamins. I had to throw 2/3’rds of them away (past the expiration dates). So..one more box down..! 6 years ago
why do I have so many frickin boxes..? oh, that’s right..because I moved out of one house and into another (that had no room for my stuff..) so I left everything in the boxes and now 5 years later I’ve decided to deal with it. Yeah, that’s why. 6 years ago
gadzooks..I might just finish this goal one day! NOTE: I have a lot more of these storage boxes (crammed with stuff) than I thought I had. I went into the attic today and found a batch more. It’s ridiculous because most of what were in those boxes were things that I haven’t needed since I moved in here. I have a new box full of charity donations today. Making headway! 6 years ago
and I collapsed a batch of empty boxes (hooray!) the kitties enjoyed that part as much as I did.
I didn’t count..but I think I have about 6 boxes left. 7 years ago
They weren’t crammed to the top..so getting to the bottom of five was easier than what has been usual. 7 years ago
today I worked on one box. I concentrated on wanting to only handle each item of paper ONCE as all the business people recommend—but it was tough. What to do with that green stamp book from the 1950’s? I couldn’t throw it away. So I picked it up and set it down about 3 times. Sigh. I WILL get better at this.
