Volunteer for charity work

3 years ago a friend of mine voluteered to work for a homeless shelter (i think – it was somthing like that) on christmas day. im not sure exactly. i think she ended up working on xmas day but more on the admin side of things.

im planning on contacting her to find out what the name of the company is and to find out more about it. and to see if i can get involved this year and work their at the shelter or whatever kind of place it is, on xmas day, and help out with things etc. im not sure aobut it all really, i need to find out from her.

i dont mind missing xmas with friends/family as it would be for a good cause to help others in need to have a happy xmas day. something like that. once i have contacted my friend i will post a uppdate with proper details up here

actively look online (and anywhere else) for some volunteer/charity work i can do, this week.

Putting this off for now as I don’t have the time to dedicate to volunteering. They say charity begins at home and I’d prefer to spend my time with my mum who is battling against cancer. It’s a slow progress but we’re going to beat it! Once she’s better I’ll come back to this goal.

for what I can do. Will probably start off with something easy like helping out in a charity shop when I have a little more spare time. Ideally I would love to do one of those sponsored treks where you can go to a foreign country and do a marathon type event to raise money. They sound challenging, but fun.

I volunteer with College Mentors for Kids! Inc. and love it.

Community service/volunteer work is great.
