Hey,
My name is Donata, I’m 16 years old and I’d like to write snail mail letters. ;)
I live in Lithuania – in small towm named Kalvarija
I like playing my guitar, listening music, organizating concerts in my school, reading books, walking long walks, taking photographs etc.
Best wishes, donata.

Something other than bills... 20 months ago

I used to be such an avid letter writer, and then email came along. I kind of suck at email. I always reply mentally, but then I never actually sit and type.

So, at least once a month, I want to send a friend a quick “I’m thinking about you” card. I think it’s worth the 41 cents or whatever a stamp costs these days. I’ve switched to paying all of my bills online, so I’ll use the money I’m saving there to make my friends happy.

MUST... MAIL... LETTERS 20 months ago

I wrote a letter to my friend, but I never mailed it, and now it is way out of date. Her birthday is coming up in a couple of days. I’ve GOT to put something together to mail out to her on Monday. I’ve got some postcards for postcrossing to go out too, so I really MUST get to the post office on Monday.

Postcrossing is a new thing for me. I learned about it from someone else’s 43things. I find the best stuff that way!

Sounds good! 21 months ago

I thought I would be able to do it immediately, do you have suggestions for a website that provides this service?

Thanks!

Getting started tonight. 21 months ago

I have a friend who has sent me about 6 letters in the last few months. I owe her some letters, or at least more than a few lines in e-mail. I have a little gift or two to send too.

Letters for April 2 years ago

I sent my letters for this month on Friday. This time in the letters I talked about past times with my friends and cousin. I wonder how they will respond I like this goal because it is fun.

Letters for March 2 years ago

I sent letters again this month to friend Mel in Germany and my cousin Katie in Florida. They both wrote back to me last month and they were happy that I sent them a letter through the mail. This month I sent them some joke cards with the letters and included some stickers for Mel’s little girl Brittany.

A couple of hours ago I just finished writing letters to my cousin who lives in Floria and my friend who is living in Germany while her husband is in the Air Force. They have written me snail mail letters in the past and I have also replied to them through email. After awhile I realized that the tradition of letter writing is fading but people can revive it and keep it alive. My cousin and friend will be a little shocked to see my letters but I put my heart into them and I sent my friend some puffy stickers for her little girl. I will mail the letters on Monday and hopefully they will respond to thorugh snail mail.

I have a cousin and friend who lives in Germany who often write to me through snail mail and email. I mostly respond through email because it is easy and convienent but I agree with brannen that there is emotion and exicitiment with opening a letter and seeing someone’s handwriting. I think with handwritten letter you can do some extras like including drawings, stickers and new clippings. I think maybe next week with the month ending I will write to my cousin and my friend and I will include some small things in the letters.

brannen is dwelling in possibility, once more.

I started out well with this and then predictably it became nothing more than a good intention. New month, new intentions. Hopefully some action!
