join/start a band

I’m a great, experienced singer/songwriter and I play the guitar and keyboard a little bit. I’m 16 about to be 17 in a few weeks and I really wanna start/join a band. I like pretty much every genre of rock n roll and I love rock to death. I’m an extremely focused, dedicated, hard-working guy and I can make you laugh at any time. What happened was, my aunt- who is a musician who moved away from this area, in which she was very well known as such, about three years ago- offered me and my cousin (her son), whom she knows have been wanting to start a band, the chance to open for her when she comes back here to do some shows in about a month. Being no sort of fools, we said yes, which means now we have about a month to actually learn instruments and write songs before we perform in front of a bunch of people. So, yeah. This is good, because it’s about the only thing that could actually motivate us enough to get off our asses and start a real band. So far it’s just the two of us and maybe a couple friends. I suspect it is going to kick ass, seeing as we are all (tragically unmotivated) musical geniuses and all, but it remains to be seen.
