take my bike out of the garage, dust it off and start using it again

and I nearly dislocated my arm doing it, too. It needs a little more than a dusting off – not surprising, after 6 years of not being used. There are problems with the gears, chain and brakes (which are making a noise that’s just as bad as chalk on a blackboard).

I’d forgotten just how much fun it is riding a bike, especially freewheeling down a country hill on a summer day – I should have done this a long time ago.
