when i was a young active kid i would always find myself getting my pants torn. everytime that happened i ran to grandma and had her fix me up. she was always there for me and my pants and i know she will always be but i think its about time i start learning how to do it on my own. she’s getting old and probably wants to golf or something.

I have never used a sewing machine but have always desired to learn. I feel like this summer would be a great time to start. Any suggestions?
I mean, I know I can sew really well now. But I need to dedicate so much more time and effort and become incredible.
I have a great machine…patterns…supplies…
and absolute terror about sewing!
I want to make things for my house that I am building…I want the place to be mine, not just reflect the taste of some designer.
makes me a very disorganized girl. Given that I don’t have a sewing machine anymore, I’ve decided to simplify things and perfect one crafty hobby at a time. This time around I think it’ll be knitting since the equipment doesn’t require electricity and loads of extraneous supplies. Yarn and needles is simple enough for me!
InTheForest is trying to reach my goals!
I get so anxious to see the finished project that I slop through and take shortcuts so I can get done. Oh yeah, I would also probably be a lot better if I knew how to cut straight!!!!

I went ahead and bought it after speaking with a woman there, who explained it was just old, and she thought the bobbin was missing-but checked the box and it was there. Hoping to get this one set up in the spare room, and try sewing something again. I will try to get a picture up of my capelet/poncho project soon. Planning to return the brand new sewing machine as the tension is just crap and its an absolute hassle sadly.

sewing machine to share with me, or become mine. It’s not the greatest, so we may return it. The bottom stitch even playing with the tension is absolute crap. Getting started again on the muslin shirt I started way back when..maybe it’ll have sleeves on it before October!
I know how to sew. But I get frustrated when I don’t get it right, or when it looks messy. I want to get better at it because then I wont get bored with it and finished my project half-assed. There are so many things I want to sew but I lack the skills to make them – I want to make a reversible baby pouch, I want to make a knitting needle organising kit, I want to make clothes for my little boy, etc.
wheresyourheart will be alright
