pet a chinchilla

I came so close yet again! Damn you, metal cages. :)

I came THIS CLOSE to petting a chinchilla atthe pet store. THIS CLOSE!! But it was in an evil glass cage, so I couldn’t do it.

I heard they were the softest things ever. A science teacher at school has a chinchilla named Pedro, but he’s always in the “Off Limits” area. I WILL pet a chinchilla. And tell of my experience in great detail.

Soooo soft! My mom came over to the US to see me, and while at a pet store, she saw a chinchilla, and immediately fell in love with her. An hour later, Lady, was nicely installed in my home (on a temp basis, until mom went back to Europe with her in tow). At first, I was a bit afraid of the little one (you know, the whole rodent thing), but as soon as I touched her fur coat, o my! It was better than cashmere! She bonded with one of my cats – where you saw one, the other would be close by. If it weren’t for my hubby (who doesn’t want any more pets), I think I would have stolen Lady from my mom, eheheh

They are soooooooo soft! I want one now =) My friend brought one back from Peru and she’s the cutest, softest (so I repeat myself…the world won’t end because of it) thing EVER! <3
