2010 Prius Coming Soon 6 months ago

Yeah the whole Phoenix thing probably isn’t going to happen!! We’ve got other things we have to do with our money. We still have a LOT of work to do on the loft, and we have trips we want to take & spending that much on a car is probably going to be out of the question. While we still hope to have an electric car someday it probably won’t be this one. The 2010 Prius should be coming out really soon and we are going to look at upgrading. We have a Scion XA right now which gets pretty good mileage but not as good as the Prius. So while the electric car is still in the distant future the Prius will be a good ‘for now’ compromise ;)

i heard in the news last night 9 months ago

that the provincial govt is looking to introduce them. This might not be such an unobtainable goal after all. I never owned a car and if I ever do own one it will have to be electric

Phoenix SUV 11 months ago

We are on the wait list for information about the Phoenix SUV when it comes out. Yeah its a pretty expensive car but we are going to start saving up for it. We used to have $700 a month going to car payments, so we figured since we have no car payments anymore (paid off one & sold the other) we would start to put that $600 into savings for this car when it is available. Hopefully something cheaper will come out…or this one will be cheaper once its actually available…We will just have to wait and see!

I’ve started a savings fund towards this goal.

Ever since we watched “Who Killed the Electric Car” this is all we have wanted!! Well not ALL but its right up there with solar panels!! ;)

Joe found something today that was talking about a car that should be in America next year that would be around $18,000. WAY more reasonable than the $100,000 price tag on the Tessla. Which, trust me, if we could afford it…we would already have one…but who in the world (other than George Clooney) can afford that!?!

This goal is for the obvious reason, responsibility. I can’t allow the earth to be trashed on my account. I need to do something to help fix the damage I done. Now, who makes the electric car and how do I get one? Oh yeah, that’s not going to happen in this presidency!

no volt yet and 23 months ago

I couldn’t wait for it to come out to get another car so I bought a new-used 2004 RX8 Mazda which is the first non-mommy car I have had in a billion years. She’s a beauty and boy can she move!

Voltsporsche Kit 2 years ago

Electro Automotive has created the Voltsporsche Kit, an electro conversion kit specifically built for the Porsche 914.

The kit replaces the standard 4 cylinder engine with a 120-volt system capable of producing 85 mph top speed and 80 to 100 miles per charge.

I really like that fact that I will be able to drive up to 100 miles before having to recharge. The price of the kit is currently $13,415

I’m definitely considering purchasing this kit for my 1975 Porsche 914.

EVs for All 2 years ago

We’ve owned our Toyota RAV4 EV (totally electric) since 2002. It’s got more than 40,000 miles on it and we go 75 mph on the freeway. The range is 100-120 miles per charge and we charge at night, while we slumber. No gas-station fumes for us. And we power our EV with the electricity we generate with the solar panels on our roof. We drive on SUNSHINE.
