How I did it: it's simple to post an ad on craigslist. after awhile you get the hang of how to word the ads and what you need to say about each thing. it's simple to search and see how much other things are going for, so you can lower or raise the price of whatever you're selling. it's definitely worth it and i've gotten rid of a lot of stuff that we just don't use anymore and other people wouldn't mind having. Went into a fabric store and looked at some bolts to get some comparison prices. I think I can sell this stuff for about 1/4 of the price and get it.
I am now the proud owner of a craigslist account. Now to finish decluttering and start photographing what I want to sell.

The seller fees are less than usual until August 5th and I’m a bit more organized so I figure I can attempt this again.

I’ve started giving it away. If someone needs my cedar chest / storage unit / end table / food processor / etc and will give it a good home, then by all means they are welcome to it. I’ve been aiming for about three things a weekend. Post it on Saturday morning, give it all away on Sunday evening. Less stuff, more happy people.

I’m giving up on this temporarily because I am just not organized enough at the moment to do it.
